Need help planning for senior pictures?  Looking for senior inso?  I’d love to help!  Planning your senior photography session should be exciting, easy, and stress free!  Here are a few key tips to take the stress off and help you to plan for a fantastic senior portrait experience.

Tips to Ensure You Have the Ultimate Senior Picture Experience

Communication is key!  When booking a senior session with me, I want to get to know you.  What are your bobbies, interests, plans after high school?  Telling me a little bit about yourself, helps me to begin the planning process and helps to ensure that your senior pictures are everything that you want them to be.

What to Wear for Senior Pictures

Plan to wear something that captures your accomplishments, makes you feel confident, and reflects your personality.  Senior year is fun and it should be celebrated!

  • If you play a sport, consider including your uniform or letterman jacket as outfit choices.
  • Do you love flowers?  If so, bring a bouquet of baby’s breath or your favorite color flowers.
  • Play an instrument? Let’s include it!
  • Want pictures in your cap and gown? Make sure to bring the tassel and know that whatever you wear under your cap and gown will show.
  • College plans? It can be fun to include your acceptance letter, college colors, or a team shirt.

Senior pictures should not only celebrate your accomplishments, but document your journey.  Including a few things that you love, help me to tell your story.

Senior Picture Locations

Location is everything!  Lucky for you, picking the perfect location for your senior pictures is part of my job.  After booking your senior session with me, I will work with you to select just the right location for your senior portraits.

I have access to a variety of locations that make beautiful backdrops for the ultimate senior experience.  I also enjoy scouting new locations, as well as using places that are sentimental to my clients.  Not sure what you want?  I can help with that too!

The Day of Senior Pictures

I strive to make senior pictures fun and stress free.  Here are a few tips that can help us both to accomplish this the day of your session:

  • Plan to arrive a few minutes early.
  • Professional hair, makeup, and nails help to achieve a polished look.  Schedule these appointments early enough to ensure that you will not feel rushed.
  • Self tanners are not recommended.  They can make your skin tone appear uneven/ orange and unnatural in photographs.
  • Have all outfits, shoes, and accessories laid out, ironed/steamed, and ready the night before.
  • Have a small snack/meal right before your session.
  • A bottle of water, lip gloss/powder for touch ups, and a comb/brush can be helpful to have on hand
  • Don’t stress!  Photographs are about preserving memories, not perfection.
  • Above all, breathe and enjoy the moment!
